I love quilts, especially antique quilts, either applique or pieced,
and I want to share my journeys in quilting !

But, my "Threads and Treasures" sometimes include embroidery, painting, or spinning wool
and weaving

It is great that you are visiting, and I hope you feel at home here.

Weer Thuis!!..........Back from Holland

At last we are home again. It seems as if we have been away for a month!
We went to Holland, for the celebration of my mother's 90th birthday. First we stayed with my sister in Zwolle, where I saw this on the pavement. ...Does it look like a quilt, or is it just me...?

Eindelijk weer thuis!
We also visited Staphorst....

Ook nog even naar Staphorst geweest...
Then we stayed with my cousin who also quilts. On Tuesday-evening was the very nice Bee, the 'Quiltmutsen', in her cosy kitchen, with coffee and wonderful home-made cake.

The next day four of us went to 3 quiltshops. First to Petra Prins in Zutphen, where I bought these fabrics. The others said "But you have not beem to Atelier Bep yet...". That was true, but I could not leave these behind....all lovely antique fabrics......

And then the long-awaited moment came...We arrived at Atelier Bep, of which I had heard so much. Well, the half hadn't been told me, I really didn't have eyes enough to see it all. A beautiful garden around a Dutch farm-house, with a lovely little shop. And Bep herself is a wonderful lady with loads of enthusiasm and friendliness. She makes you feel at home immediately with a nice cup of tea in her country-kitchen. I have never seen so many lovely things in one place. I had brought my Baltimore top, and she took a photo of it, for her blog, which I always love to read. (I pinched the photo from her blog with her permission...as I had forgotten my camera..!)

In the shop were loads of nice things, fabrics, ribbons, patterns - all incredibly beautiful. The fabrics I bought...

In het winkeltje is van alles, lapjes, lintjes, patronen - allemaal even leuk.... Deze stofjes heb ik gekocht...
And these patterns, totaaly irresistible. If it wasn't for lack of cash I could have bought loads more! If you click on the photo, you will see them better.

And once more....

En nog eens....
And now I don't know which one to make ...!
But I must finish the last 4 blocks for Caleb's quilt first, so I don't have to decide just yet!
Have a nice day,

Groetjes,
Jane
